OnePlus Nord vs Realme X7 Pro
OnePlus and Realme might have the same parent company (Oppo), but that doesn’t stop them from competing against each other. Initially, OnePlus was meant to be a player in the budget premium segment and Realme was meant to be the king in the budget segment. But gradually both have started to evolve.
OnePlus has begun to offer more mobiles at a cheaper price than what they used to. While Realme has begun to offer more mobiles at higher price segments. And due to this, the two siblings have a mobile at the same price segment- the OnePlus Nord and Realme X7 Pro. So, which one should you buy? To answer this very question, I have come up with this comparison between two very good mobiles.
Specs Comparison
Realme X7 Pro is powered by Dimensity 1000+ chipset from Mediatek. The gaming needs are taken care of by Mali-G77 GPU. The device has a 4500mAh battery which can be charged by a 65W fast charger. The device has a 6.55-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a 240Hz touch sample. The device is available in only one variant i.e. 8+128GB. The storage type is UFS 2.1. On the camera front the device has four cameras at the rear- 64MP main lens, 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro and another 2MP camera which basically is useless. For selfies, it has a single 32MP camera. The device can record 4K videos from rear cameras and up to 1080p from the front camera.
OnePlus Nord is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G. The gaming needs are handled by the Adreno 620 GPU. The device has a 4115mAh battery which can be charged by a 30W charger. OnePlus Nord has a 6.44 inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The device is available in two variants i.e. 8+128GB 12+256GB. On the camera front, it has four cameras at the rear, with a 48 MP lens being the main one. The other three are an 8MP Ultra Wide lens, a 5MP depth sensor and a token 2MP lens. OnePlus Nord can record 4K videos with both front and rear cameras.
Real Word Comparison
The Dimensity 1000+ chipset is way better than Qualcomm’s 765G and it’s quite evident in the way both phones performs. Realme X7 Pro feels fast, it loads the app faster than Nord and its boot time is also better than OnePlus Nord. The 120Hz refresh rate only adds to the snappy feeling. The Mali GPU is also better than the Adreno one. And therefore, the gaming performance of X7 Pro is better than Nord.
When it comes to cameras, I feel the rear camera of Realme is better than OnePlus.. Realme is using a higher megapixel lens and expectedly, its performance is better. However, the front camera of the OnePlus Nord did a better job than the one on Realme.
The battery on Realme lasted more than OnePlus’. And the 65W charger provided by Realme just makes Realme the preferred choice if the battery is a major concern.
Both the devices don’t have a 3.5 mm jack, but Realme X7 Pro comes with a 3.5 mm to Type-C adapter.
Verdict
Both the devices are very good. But which one should you buy? The OnePlus Nord does fall behind in a lot of categories when compared to Realme X7 Pro. But do remember that OnePlus Nord is available at a cheaper price than X7 Pro. So buy OnePlus Nord if you want a better software experience and if you are not ready to spend that extra cash which Realme demands. Buy Realme X7 Pro if you want a better performance from your mobile. If you want a better gaming experience and if you want a larger battery and faster charging.
